Goats 101 Classes

Whether you are a goat-parent-to-be or you’ve had caprine kids for years, we hope you will join us for a fun day of learning and conversation!

These hands-on, info-packed workshops will teach you everything there is to know about caring for goats.

Topics include basic care: nutrition & feeding, toxic plants, hoof trimming, fencing & shelter, the latest information about deworming & fecal testing, the importance of having a vet who knows goats on your team, body condition monitoring, normal vital signs, and common diseases & ailments (what you can do, and when to call the vet).

The workshop will include some live demonstrations, so that you can really see what we’re talking about, and everyone will have the opportunity to interact with the goats. Though this class is designed for pet goat owners, everything we cover is relevant to production animals as well. However, we don’t cover topics specific to breeding/kidding, or milk/meat production.
